The Marcia P. Hoffman School of the Arts at Ruth Eckerd Hall will present the award-winning musical Roald Dahl<\/a>‘s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory on Friday, July 31 at 7pm and Saturday, August 1 at 2pm & 7pm on Ruth Eckerd Hall’s main stage. Tickets go on sale Friday, June 5 at 10 am.<\/p>\n

Based on the famous novel by Roald Dahl<\/a>,\u00a0Charlie And The Chocolate Factory features an original score composed by Marc Shaiman<\/a> with lyrics by Shaiman and Scott Wittman<\/a> and a book by David Greig<\/a>. The score also pays homage to the Leslie Bricusse<\/a>\/Anthony Newley<\/a> score from the 1971 film with songs from the motion picture including The Candy Man, I’ve Got a Golden Ticket, Oompa Loompa Song and Pure Imagination.<\/p>\n

The world-famous Willy Wonka is opening the gates to his mysterious factory\u2026but only to a lucky few. Young Charlie Bucket and four other golden ticket winners will embark on a life-changing journey through Wonka’s world of pure imagination including chocolate waterfalls, nutty squirrels and the great glass elevator, all to be revealed by Wonka’s army of curious Oompa-Loompas.<\/p>\n

Tickets for reserved seating priced at $15 and $10 for students and military with photo ID are available at The Raymond James Central Ticket Office at Ruth Eckerd Hall, by calling 727-791-7400 or visiting www.RuthEckerdHall.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Ticket Office at Ruth Eckerd Hall is located at 1111 N. McMullen Booth Road in Clearwater and is open Tuesday through Thursday, from noon to 6 pm, Friday, from 10 am to 6 pm, and Saturday, from noon to 6 pm. The Raymond James Central Ticket Office will open two hours prior to show time.<\/p>\n
