On Sunday night, veteran Atlanta blues-rockers the Black Crowes played Tampa’s MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre as part of their Southern Hospitality tour. (The previous night, Kid Rock played the same venue.) After the Black Crowes played their song “Soul Singing,” their crow logo, also seen on frontman Chris Robinson’s shirt, appeared onscreen, dressed as Uncle Sam. In the crowd, people started chanting, “USA! USA!” <\/p>\n
According to fans at the show, the band wasn’t very excited about that chant. According to one Facebook user<\/a>, Chris Robinson responded, “Thanks for the geography lesson\u2026.I don\u2019t know what your [sic] so proud of right now.” The crowd booed, and some concertgoers got up and left. On the Facebook post linked above, another user commented, “Never seen so many people walk out of a concert.”<\/p>\n After the boos, Chris Robinson told the crowd, “For those of you fuckin’ booing us, some of us are not afraid, and we most assuredly are not fuckin’ ignorant, so thank you!”<\/p>\n One Instagram user writes that “most of the audience got up and left” after that.<\/p>\n That estimate seems like an exaggeration, but a Setlist.fm contributor added that “half the audience left,” and TMZ posted video<\/a> of a “steady flow of fans” leaving the show early. The band continued playing, and the show included the live debut of “Blood Red Regrets,” a song from their recent album A Pound Of Feathers.
