{"id":293555,"date":"2026-06-02T20:59:08","date_gmt":"2026-06-02T20:59:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/293555\/"},"modified":"2026-06-02T20:59:08","modified_gmt":"2026-06-02T20:59:08","slug":"april-revenue-tops-forecast-tallahassee-reports","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/293555\/","title":{"rendered":"April Revenue Tops Forecast \u2013 Tallahassee Reports"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>                        <img width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/Money-1024x683.jpg\" class=\"attachment-large size-large wp-post-image\" alt=\"\" decoding=\"async\" fetchpriority=\"high\"  \/>                                            <\/p>\n<p>By The News Service of Florida <\/p>\n<p>State general revenue collections for April exceeded expectations by $158.9 million, even with sales tax coming in under the forecast, according to a report released Monday by the Legislature\u2019s Office of Economic &amp; Demographic Research.<\/p>\n<p>The report shows the state collected $5.78 billion in general revenue in April, 2.8 percent above the amount anticipated.<\/p>\n<p>General revenue is closely watched because it plays a major role in funding education, health and prison programs.<\/p>\n<p>Sales tax collections, which make up the largest part of state revenue, totaled $3.52 billion for April. The total was $91 million below the forecast.<\/p>\n<p>Corporate income taxes accounted for $1.3 billion in revenue, or $133 million over the forecast.
