ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. \u2013 After a recent \u2018teen takeover\u2019 turned violent in Clearwater Beach, Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier is speaking out.<\/p>\n
According to CBS affiliate WTSP<\/a>, police announced that a 17-year-old was shot during the incident, leading to the arrest of a 16-year-old, who now faces a charge of attempted second-degree murder.<\/p>\n WTSP reports that the 16-year-old is believed to have fired seven times. Meanwhile, the victim remains in the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries to his leg, arm and chest.<\/p>\n In response to the news, Uthmeier announced that he\u2019s directed prosecutors to develop a plan to investigate those who are responsible for these events.<\/p>\n \u201cWhoever is organizing these \u2018teen takeovers,\u2019 congrats: you have my attention,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n Whoever is organizing these \u201cteen takeovers,\u201d congrats: you have my attention.<\/p>\n This behavior is unacceptable, and I\u2019m having our Statewide Prosecutors develop a plan to investigate and prosecute those who are responsible for these events.<\/p>\n Stay tuned.
