THAT EVENT KICKS OFF AT TOWN HALL AT 9:00. NEVER A BAD IDEA TO JUST GIVE YOUR OWN KITS A ONCE OVER. YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU USE FROM THE PREVIOUS SEASONS, OR WHETHER YOU NEED TO REPLENISH ANY OF YOUR SUPPLIES AND DO SO DURING THE MORNING HOURS. BECAUSE IN THE EVENING YOU MAY NOT WANT TO LEAVE YOUR HOUSE. WITH THIS IMPACT WEATHER, WE’RE CERTAINLY GOING TO BE SEEING THE SHOWERS AND STORMS KIND OF GETTING A LITTLE MORE SCATTERED, EVENTUALLY WIDESPREAD LATER ON TODAY. SANIKA. BUT GOOD NEWS AFTER THIS COLD FRONT MOVES THROUGH MUCH BETTER WEATHER HERE ACROSS CENTRAL FLORIDA. LET’S TALK ALL ABOUT THAT. SO WE HAVE BETWEEN FOUR TO ABOUT 11 P.M. THIS EVENING BECAUSE THIS FRONT’S COMING IN PRETTY LATE. AND THAT IS A GOOD THING BECAUSE IT POTENTIALLY COULD DECREASE THE THREAT FOR SEVERE STORMS. BUT STILL, IT’S ON THE TABLE FOR TODAY. WE’RE GOING TO BE LOOKING AT THE MOST CONCERNS. HEAVY RAIN, DAMAGING WINDS, THUNDER, LIGHTNING, HAIL AND AN ISOLATED TORNADO IS ON THE TABLE. BUT IT’S A LOW THREAT. BUT WE HERE AT WESH TWO, WE’RE GOING TO LET YOU KNOW EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW AHEAD OF THAT CONCERN. SO TAKING A LOOK AT YOUR SEVEN DAY FORECAST HERE CERTIFIED MOST ACCURATE ACROSS CENTRAL FLORIDA. LOOK AT THE TEMPERATURES BY YOUR WEDNESDAY 82 DEGREES. MUCH DRIER AIR MOVING IN. AND WE’RE GOING TO BASICALLY BE OUT OF THE 90S UNTIL NEXT WEEK. BUT WE DO HAVE TO GET THROUGH THIS EVENING. YOU’LL NOTICE SATELLITE AND RADAR IS MOSTLY CLEAR. VERY BRIEF SHOWER WAS MOVING THROUGH AREAS OF LAKE COUNTY AND SUMTER COUNTY, BUT THOSE HAVE BASICALLY DISSIPATED. AND WE’RE LOOKING OUTSIDE RIGHT NOW, LOTS OF SUN. BUT AS THAT FRONT APPROACHES AHEAD OF THE FRONT, BECAUSE OF ALL THESE TEMPERATURES IN THE 90S AND THE DEW POINTS FEELING SO STICKY, THAT’S WHY WE ARE GOING TO BE WATCHING FOR THE IMPACT WEATHER 89 RIGHT NOW IN ORLANDO, 90 MOVING INTO SANFORD. AND THAT’S THE HIGH TEMPERATURE FOR SANFORD FOR TODAY. 91 IS YOUR HIGH IN ORLANDO, BUT IT ALREADY FEELS AND IT WILL CONTINUE TO FEEL LIKE THE TRIPLE DIGITS. AND THEN WE WILL CONTINUE TO SEE THAT THREAT FOR SOME STORMS LATER ON. TODAY. YOUR HIGHEST RAIN CHANCES ARE GOING TO BE FROM OCALA, MOVING IN ACROSS AREAS OF THE COASTLINE, AND THEN EVEN SOUTH TOWARDS ORLANDO AND THE I-95 CORRIDOR. THAT’S ALSO WHERE WE HAVE THAT STRONG TO SEVERE STORM RISK WITH MARGINAL RISK EXPECTING DAMAGING WINDS AND DOWNPOURS. HAIL AND TORNADOES ARE GOING TO BE A LOW CONCERN, BUT SOMETHING WE’RE STILL GOING TO BE WATCHING AS THAT FRONT APPROACHES. TAKING A LOOK AT YOUR FUTURECAST, WHERE WE HAVE A COUPLE CELLS BEGINNING TO DEVELOP ALONG THE COASTLINE TO START THROUGH THE EARLY AFTERNOON. BUT AS THE SEA BREEZES BEGIN TO SET UP, WE WILL BE WATCHING AREAS OF MELBOURNE THROUGH PALM BAY. THERE’S THAT FRONT MOVING THROUGH LATER ON TONIGHT WHERE WE SEE MORE HEAVIER RAINFALL TOWARDS THE METRO, AND THEN EVENTUALLY THINGS WILL FIZZLE OUT. YOU’LL NOTICE VERY EARLY TOMORROW MORNING WE ARE GOING TO BE HAVING THE REST OF THAT RAIN MOVE THROUGH. BUT THEN THE COOLER AIR MASS COMES IN AND WE WILL SEE MUCH MORE IMPROVEMENT. SEE THE COLD FRONT? IT KIND OF SEES A LITTLE STATIONARY THROUGH THE REST OF THE WEEK, AND THAT’S ALL DUE TO THE AIR MASSES MOVING THROUGH. YOU’LL NOTICE THERE’S A LOW PRESSURE IN THE GULF, BUT IT IS GOING TO BE NON-TROPICAL. YOU CAN THINK THAT COLD FRONT FROM KEEPING ALL OF THIS MOISTURE AWAY FROM CENTRAL FLORIDA, AND AND WE’RE JUST GOING TO SEE OTHER PARTS OF THE GULF SEE A LITTLE BIT MORE MOISTURE. BUT THIS IS NON-TROPICAL. WE’RE NOT TRACKING ANYTHING HERE. AS WE JUMP INTO ATLANTIC HURRICANE SEASON, WHICH IS SOME GOOD NEWS. HERE’S A LOOK AT YOUR CERTIFIED MOST ACCURATE SEVEN DAY FORECAST HERE. ONCE AGAIN WE ARE GOING TO BE SEEING RAIN CHANCES REALLY DROP A LITTLE BIT WET INTO THE BEGINNING

Hot and humid as storms are ushered across Central Florida later today

Track the timing with meteorologist Victoria Wisniewski

   Updated: 1:45 PM EDT Jun 2, 2026

  Editorial Standards ⓘ

This afternoon, Impact Weather is in effect as showers and storms move across Central Florida.
