{"id":294746,"date":"2026-06-03T18:45:08","date_gmt":"2026-06-03T18:45:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/294746\/"},"modified":"2026-06-03T18:45:08","modified_gmt":"2026-06-03T18:45:08","slug":"orlando-health-announces-plans-to-open-a-new-hospital-in-viera","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/294746\/","title":{"rendered":"Orlando Health announces plans to open a new hospital in Viera"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">VIERA, Fla.  \u2013 Orlando Health revealed its plans to open a new hospital and medical office building in Viera that is expected to open as early as the fall of 2027. <\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">With construction set to begin this month, the new facility will replace the services lost when <a href=\"https:\/\/www.clickorlando.com\/news\/local\/2025\/04\/21\/rockledge-hospital-closing-after-84-years-sparking-backlash\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.clickorlando.com\/news\/local\/2025\/04\/21\/rockledge-hospital-closing-after-84-years-sparking-backlash\/\">Rockledge Medical Center closed last year<\/a> due to facility neglect and costly renovations after court documents showed the company was billions of dollars in debt. <\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">\u201cThis decision is necessary to ensure the safety of patients and team members,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.clickorlando.com\/news\/local\/2025\/02\/20\/orlando-health-to-close-rockledge-hospital-says-repairs-renovation-too-costly\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.clickorlando.com\/news\/local\/2025\/02\/20\/orlando-health-to-close-rockledge-hospital-says-repairs-renovation-too-costly\/\">Orlando Health officials said in February 2025<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">According to a news release, the project, Orlando Health Viera Hospital, will be located in Borrows West between Lake Andrew Drive and I-95, just south of Viera Boulevard.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">It will be built on a 40-acre health and wellness campus and will include a seven-story hospital, in addition to housing 240 beds in a three-story 60,000 square-foot medical office building. <\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">\u201cWe are honored that Orlando Health has chosen Viera as the home for this transformative investment, which will not only meet vital healthcare needs but also provide new jobs in the community,\u201d said Todd J.
