(CBS12) \u2014 Nassau County Deputies responded to a house fire in Yulee, Florida, after the 911 Communications Center received a report of a residential fire on May 26th.<\/p>\n<p>As deputies arrived on scene, one of the residents told them, &#8220;My husband is in there, he won&#8217;t come out.&#8221; The Nassau County Sheriff&#8217;s Office say they entered the smoke-filled home looking for the resident to ensure his safe evacuation.<\/p>\n<p>See also: <a href=\"https:\/\/cbs12.com\/news\/local\/3-florida-beaches-ranked-among-top-10-best-us-dr-beachs-annual-list-st-andrews-state-park-panama-city-caladesi-island-state-park-dunedin-delnor-wiggins-pass-state-park\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">3 Florida beaches ranked among top 10 best in U.S. in &#8216;Dr. Beach&#8217;s&#8217; annual list<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Officials say the homeowner was found in the backyard and escorted to safety by deputies before the Nassau County Fire Rescue (NCFR) arrived on scene, rescuing a dog from the home and quickly extinguishing the fire that was contained to the kitchen.<\/p>\n<p>Comment with Bubbles<\/p>\n<p>BE THE FIRST TO COMMENT<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Our deputies are trained to respond when people need help the most, and that&#8217;s exactly what they did in this situation,&#8221; says Sheriff Bill Leeper. &#8220;Their courage, quick thinking and commitment to protecting others helped bring this incident to a safe conclusion.
