Community Health Centers recently celebrated the completion of a major expansion and renovation project at its Apopka Family Health Center.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The federally qualified health center\u00a0also announced two new board members,\u00a0naming\u00a0Winter Garden resident Jared Nordlund and Apopka resident Richard\u00a0Cieslak\u00a0to its board.\u00a0<\/p>\n

According to Community Health Centers, Nordlund serves as Florida state director for\u00a0UnidosUS\u00a0and has more than 15 years of experience in public affairs, policy\u00a0advocacy\u00a0and civic engagement.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Cieslak is a principal with CLA (CliftonLarsonAllen) in Orlando and has held executive leadership roles in finance and operations. He also serves as\u00a0chairman\u00a0of the Florida Alliance for Boys and Girls Clubs and is a board member of Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cThese two accomplished leaders bring extensive experience in public affairs, financial leadership, advocacy, and community engagement,\u201d said Dr. Melissa Singh, chairperson of the Community Health Centers Board of Directors. \u201cTheir perspectives and expertise will help strengthen our mission as we continue expanding access to quality healthcare services for the communities we serve.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

The announcement comes as Community Health Centers marks the completion of a significant expansion of its Apopka Family Health Center,\u00a0located\u00a0at 225 E. Seventh St.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The project added approximately\u00a07,000 square feet\u00a0to the facility, bringing the total building size to about\u00a019,500 square feet. Renovations included expanded family medicine and OB\/GYN exam rooms, larger pharmacy and laboratory areas, dedicated behavioral health space, a new optometry area for vision services and\u00a0additional\u00a0parking.\u00a0<\/p>\n

More than 80 supporters, healthcare partners, elected\u00a0officials\u00a0and community leaders attended a recent ribbon-cutting and open house event to celebrate the completion of the project.\u00a0Community Health Centers\u00a0also\u00a0recognized\u00a0AdventHealth<\/a>\u00a0for providing financial support for the expansion and related healthcare initiatives.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cThis expansion represents far more than additional space,\u201d\u00a0said Dr. Debra Andree, president and chief executive officer of Community Health Centers. \u201cIt reflects our commitment to meeting the evolving healthcare needs of our community while creating an improved experience for both our patients and team members.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

Andree noted that the Apopka facility remained open throughout construction, allowing patients to continue receiving care during the renovation process.\u00a0<\/p>\n
