{"id":297299,"date":"2026-06-05T15:29:22","date_gmt":"2026-06-05T15:29:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/297299\/"},"modified":"2026-06-05T15:29:22","modified_gmt":"2026-06-05T15:29:22","slug":"update-active-school-threat-training","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/297299\/","title":{"rendered":"UPDATE: Active School Threat Training"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>                                <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/screenshot-2026-06-04-at-3-15-22-pm.png\" alt=\"UPDATE: Active School Threat Training\" class=\"pr-3 pb-3\" aria-label=\"UPDATE: Active School Threat Training\"\/><\/p>\n<p>UPDATE: JUNE 5, 2026<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nOver the past two days, the Hillsborough County Sheriff\u2019s Office conducted active-threat response training exercises at Mulrennan Middle School in Valrico and Ben Hill Middle School in Carrollwood.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The video is available for media use at the following link:\u00a0https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=BMBF_Km9GrY<\/p>\n<p>The training will continue next week:&#13;\n<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\tWednesday, June 10, 2026, at Bloomingdale High School in Brandon and Sickles High School in Tampa.&#13;<br \/>\n\tThursday, June 11, 2026, at Sickles High School in Tampa.&#13;<\/p>\n<p>HCSO encourages the public to remain aware of the scheduled training and assures the community that all safety precautions will be in place during the exercises.<\/p>\n<p>The Public Affairs Office will provide any additional information regarding the training exercises as needed.<\/p>\n<p>ORIGINAL: JUNE 3, 2026<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nThe Hillsborough County Sheriff\u2019s Office will conduct active threat response training exercises at local schools over the next two weeks.<\/p>\n<p>The training schedule is as follows:&#13;\n<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\tWednesday, June 3, 2026, at Mulrennan Middle School in Valrico and Ben Hill Middle School in Carrollwood.\u00a0&#13;<br \/>\n\tThursday, June 4, 2026, at Mulrennan Middle School in Valrico.&#13;<br \/>\n\tWednesday, June 10, 2026, at Bloomingdale High School in Brandon and Sickles High School in Tampa.&#13;<br \/>\n\tThursday, June 11, 2026, at Sickles High School in Tampa.&#13;<\/p>\n<p>These exercises are part of HCSO\u2019s ongoing commitment to strengthen rapid-response tactics and enhance communication among school resource deputies, patrol deputies, and specialized units during high-stress situations.<\/p>\n<p>Residents in the area can expect an increased law enforcement presence, including marked patrol vehicles and specialized units, throughout the training exercises.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Training like this is critical to ensuring our deputies are prepared to respond when every second counts,&#8221;\u00a0said Sheriff Chad Chronister.\u00a0&#8220;Using real school campuses during non-school hours allows our teams to strengthen communication, improve response tactics, and enhance coordination between units.
