CLEARWATER, Fla. (WFLA<\/a>) \u2014 The Clearwater Police Department announced Friday that it has completed its investigation into the death of WWE legend<\/a> Hulk Hogan.<\/p>\n

According to their findings, Clearwater police determined Hogan, whose legal name is Terry Bollea, died of an attended natural death.<\/p>\n

\u201cUnder the circumstances, it fell to the Clearwater Police Department to address, challenge or validate some of the concerns in the case,\u201d the authorities wrote. \u201cInvestigators had to interview multiple witnesses and review various recordings to answer questions central to our inquiry.\u201d<\/p>\n

The department also released a 72-page report on Hogan\u2019s death<\/a>, as well as interviews with his occupational therapist. In the report, testimonies from various officers described what happened when Clearwater police were called to the former wrestling star\u2019s home on July 24, 2025.<\/p>\n

The initial incident report stated that officers responded to the home on Eldorado Avenue at about 10:21 a.m. ET for a medical call. When officers entered the home, they found Hogan lying on the floor on his back, appearing pale with no signs of life.<\/p>\n

His home health aide, Dana Swinton, told police that she, Hogan\u2019s wife Sky Daily<\/a>, and his occupational therapist Justin McCamey were at the home when he stopped breathing.<\/p>\n

\u201cI got here at 7,\u201d Swinton told police, adding that he seemed \u201cOK\u201d at the time.<\/p>\n

McCamey said he arrived at the home at about 9:30 a.m. ET and was there for 10 minutes before Hogan began having his medical episode. Both he and the home health aide said the WWE icon was talking and ate yogurt before the medical episode.<\/p>\n

When McCamey and Swinton returned, Daily noticed that her husband was not breathing. McCamey tried to get Hogan\u2019s vitals but did not detect a pulse.<\/p>\n

Daily called 911 and said, \u201cMy husband, it doesn\u2019t seem like he\u2019s breathing.\u201d<\/p>\n

The home medical staff performed CPR on the retired wrestler until first responders arrived. According to the report, Hogan was taken to Morton Plant Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 11:17 p.m.<\/p>\n

The report also stated that McCamey had been his occupational therapist for two weeks and that this was his second visit with his patient.<\/p>\n

He told police Hogan was in \u201cvery poor health\u201d since having surgery. The report stated the ex-wrestler had \u201capproximately 20-30 various knee, hip, and back surgeries over the years.<\/p>\n

Daily also told police that her husband had a spinal fusion surgery on his neck about six weeks before his death and a cardiac surgery three weeks before to fix a valve. He was also diagnosed with chronic lymphocytic leukemia and had been undergoing chemotherapy.<\/p>\n

Hogan was 71 at the time of his death<\/a>. A cremation approval report<\/a> from the District Six Medical Examiner\u2019s Office described it as a natural death caused by a cardiac arrest. It also noted the wrestling superstar had a history of \u201catrial fibrillation,\u201d an irregular heartbeat in the upper chambers of the heart, and leukemia.<\/p>\n

A private autopsy arranged by Daily and Hogan\u2019s son, Nick, found that he died \u201cexclusively from compelling natural disease, with no reasonable traumatic or terminal toxicologic
contributions.\u201d<\/p>\n

After reviewing all the evidence, Clearwater police determined that the death was natural and that there was no evidence of criminal wrongdoing.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe want to thank the family of Mr. Bollea \u2014 Sky, Nick and Brooke \u2014 and their attorney, Kevin Hayslett, for their cooperation,\u201d the department said. \u201cTheir willingness to allow our investigators access to very personal information, at a time when they were grieving and struggling, was extremely helpful.\u201d<\/p>\n

The authorities added, \u201cWe would not have had the legal justification to obtain much of the information without their cooperation.\u201d<\/p>\n
