He slashed .305\/.455\/.475 as a high school senior with flashes of extra-base power \u2014 two homers, one triple and six doubles. Perfect Game ranked Myers No. 149 overall in the class of 24 and No. 39 among shortstops in the country.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">With Colby Shelton and Cade Kurland blocking both middle infield spots during Myers&#8217; freshman year, he took a redshirt and did not play. He played in 26 games, primarily at third base with some time at shortstop and second base, this past season, but Myers only slashed .185\/.250\/.247. With a strikeout rate approaching 40% and a wRC+ of 28 \u2014 where 100 is the league average \u2014 Myers was not ready to play regularly against SEC arms.<\/p>\n<p>Other <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/sports\/college-sports\/sec\/florida\" data-autotag=\"13e400dd-2caf-4743-8f66-2d6e34ba4e99\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" data-t-l=\":b|e|k|\u2691u\" class=\"gnt_ar_b_a\">Florida Gators<\/a> in the transfer portal<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">Myers is the fifth Florida Gator to enter the transfer portal, following a quarter of arms. <a href=\"http:\/\/gatorswire.usatoday.com\/story\/sports\/college\/gators\/baseball\/2026\/06\/01\/florida-baseball-transfer-portal-mccall-biemiller-enter\/90358958007\/\" data-t-l=\":b|e|k|\u2691u\" class=\"gnt_ar_b_a\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">McCall Biemiller<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/gatorswire.usatoday.com\/story\/sports\/college\/gators\/baseball\/2026\/06\/05\/florida-baseball-pitchers-transfer-portal-christian-rodriguez-matthew-jenkins-cooper-moss\/90427068007\/\" data-t-l=\":b|e|k|\u2691u\" class=\"gnt_ar_b_a\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Matthew Jenkins<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/gatorswire.usatoday.com\/story\/sports\/college\/gators\/baseball\/2026\/06\/05\/florida-baseball-pitchers-transfer-portal-christian-rodriguez-matthew-jenkins-cooper-moss\/90427068007\/\" data-t-l=\":b|e|k|\u2691u\" class=\"gnt_ar_b_a\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Cooper Moss<\/a> announced on Monday, the first day the portal opened, and Christian Rodriguez followed on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>Need a news break?
