Florida made another big splash on the recruiting trail on Friday morning. <\/p>\n

The Gators have been hot in the class of 2027 lately and have now secured a commitment from 3-star athlete Kamarion Johnson. Florida<\/a> beat out Florida State and Cincinnati for his pledge, per Rivals\u2019 Hayes Fawcett.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m home, Go Gators,\u201d he told Fawcett. <\/p>\n

Johnson is a big pickup for the Gators. While he\u2019s currently regarded as a 3-star prospect, he\u2019s on the cusp of blue-chip status. He\u2019s currently ranked as the No. 439 overall player in the nation for the class of 2027, per 247Sports Composite rankings. <\/p>\n

Johnson attends Clinch County High School in Homerville, Georgia. He\u2019s listed at 6-foot, 185 pounds. Johnson is listed as an athlete and it\u2019s not yet clear what position he will play at the next level. <\/p>\n

Johnson\u2019s recruitment has been trending up in recent weeks. He earned scholarship offers from Florida, Alabama<\/a> and other programs back in April. <\/p>\n

Florida is now up to 21 commitments in the class of 2027. The Gators have the No. 5-ranked class in the nation for this cycle, per 247Sports Composite rankings. <\/p>\n
