TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – The Capital Region News Collaborative<\/a>, a coalition of six local news organizations, is partnering with the League of Women Voters Tallahassee (LWVT) to host primary and general election Candidate Forums.<\/p>\n

The Collaboration is building on the success of previous forums produced in partnership with the LWVT, the Tallahassee Democrat, and WFSU Public Media. <\/p>\n

The partners in the collaborative include, in addition to the Tallahassee Democrat and WFSU, WCTV, WTXL, Capital Outlook, and Tallahassee Reports. Expanding the news organizations participating in the Candidate Forums will increase opportunities for citizens in the region to hear directly from candidates.<\/p>\n

The Candidate Forums will be streamed live by the Collaborative partners. The forums will streamed on the Livestream page of wctv.tv<\/a>, the WCTV mobile and streaming apps<\/a> and our YouTube channel.<\/a> They will be available to rewatch on wctv.tv<\/a>, our news app and YouTube channel.<\/p>\n

If you have a question for a candidate, submit your question to one of the Collaborative Partners no later than a week before the Candidate Forum you are interested in. Keep your question brief and appropriate.<\/p>\n

Early voting begins August 8th and ends August 16th. Election Day is August 18th. If you need additional information regarding voting, contact the Leon County Supervisor of Elections at 850-606-8683 or email Vote@LeonVotes.gov<\/p>\n

The Candidate Forums are made possible through Press Forward North Florida, an initiative that brings together journalists, nonprofit leaders, educators, and community stakeholders to identify local information needs and co-create sustainable solutions that enhance civic engagement and strengthen trusted local news for years to come.<\/p>\n

Founded with support from the Community Foundation of North Florida, this initiative reflects the Foundation\u2019s mission to enhance the quality of life across North Florida through charitable giving. The Foundation serves as a convener, catalyst, and connector \u2014 helping donors support causes that illuminate and uplift community well-being.<\/p>\n

The League of Women Voters of Tallahassee is committed to empowering voters and defending democracy by engaging in community outreach and collaborating with other non-profits to hold educational forums and town halls to Get Out the Vote.
