TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – The Tallahassee Fire Department is mourning the loss of Engineer Charles \u201cChuck\u201d Droessler, a veteran firefighter who served the community for nearly 11 years.<\/p>\n
The department announced Droessler\u2019s death Monday in a social media post, remembering him for his dedication, courage and commitment to serving others.<\/p>\n
According to a Tallahassee Fire Department spokesman, Droessler died following a medical emergency. His death was not in the line of duty.<\/p>\n
Members of the Tallahassee Professional Firefighters union also shared their condolences.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe was more than a firefighter,\u201d union president JP Colin wrote in a statement. \u201cHe was a brother, a friend, and a dedicated public servant who gave his all to our department and our community.\u201d<\/p>\n
The union asked the community to keep Droessler\u2019s family, friends and fellow firefighters in their thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.<\/p>\n
Funeral arrangements have not yet been announced.<\/p>\n
