An island resort will present two days of live music and original songs at its poolside stage.<\/p>\n

The \u2018Tween Waters Inn & Marina will host its 8th Annual Captivaville Songwriters Weekend on June 13-14 on Captiva. It will feature a lineup of songwriters and musicians and relaxed island energy.<\/p>\n

\u201cSongwriters gives us a chance to bring in some great talent from inside and outside of town,\u201d General Manager Will Oliver said, explaining that the event is attended more by locals as they do not typically visit the property as much during the snowbird season. \u201cThis gives us a chance to put on a great event.\u201d<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s lineup includes Lockwood Barr, Sheena Brook, Claire Liparulo and Steve Farst.<\/p>\n

Barr is coming in from Nashville, Tennessee.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe\u2019s going to be our out-of-towner,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The others are local talent who have performed previously at the resort.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re looking forward to having them back,\u201d Oliver said.<\/p>\n

Barr\u2019s songs include \u201c6 Feet Deep\u201d and award-winning \u201cTornado Tree.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cShe\u2019s had some great songs,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Barr and Brook will perform together.<\/p>\n

\u201cSheena and her work well and play well together,\u201d Oliver said. \u201cAnd they\u2019ll give us some of the stories behind their original songs.\u201d<\/p>\n

Brook was a contestant on NBC\u2019s \u201cThe Voice.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cSheena can play just about anything,\u201d he said, citing country, rock and her own music. \u201cShe\u2019s probably one of the best artists to come out of Southwest Florida, if not the best.\u201d<\/p>\n

Liparulo is growing in popularity as a musician.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re excited to see what she can do,\u201d Oliver said.<\/p>\n

Farst does is all \u2014 musician, deejay.<\/p>\n

\u201cSteve\u2019s been killing it in Southwest Florida for years,\u201d he said. \u201cHe did really well for us at the Winter Music Festival. He always draws a very large and local crowd.\u201d<\/p>\n

The schedule is as follows:<\/p>\n

JUNE 13:<\/p>\n

\u2013 Liparulo from noon to 3 p.m.<\/p>\n

\u2013 Farst from 3 to 5 p.m.<\/p>\n

\u2013 Barr and Brook from 5 to 8 p.m.<\/p>\n

JUNE 14:<\/p>\n

\u2013 Barr and Brook from noon to 3 p.m.<\/p>\n

\u2013 Liparulo from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.<\/p>\n

\u2013 Farst from 5 to 8 p.m.<\/p>\n

Food and drinks will be available on site, with expanded hours.<\/p>\n

Oliver noted that after it all wraps up on June 14, the Gatlins will perform at The Shipyard.<\/p>\n

Resort guests receive free admission.<\/p>\n

For the public, Captivaville Day Passes are available for purchase for up to six people by car or boat. The cost is $125 to attend both days or individual passes are $100 for June 13 and $50 for June 14.<\/p>\n

The passes offer full access to the property.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe special is going to be $125 for both days, which saves them a little bit of money,\u201d he said. \u201cThe same rules apply whether it\u2019s vehicles or vessels.\u201d<\/p>\n

As of last week, there were a limited number of passes left.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey\u2019re definitely going fast,\u201d Oliver said.<\/p>\n

The community is welcome to secure its spot for the show.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt gives people a chance to kind of unplug and hang by the pool,\u201d he said, adding that they will hear great music and learn about the artists. \u201cWe\u2019re excited. We think it\u2019s going to be a huge success.\u201d<\/p>\n
