A 27-year-old Florida woman was accused of repeatedly abusing her 8-year-old daughter, starving her, as well as forcing the child to eat food from the trash, according to reports. <\/p>\n

The Miami-Dade County Department of Corrections<\/a> identified the suspect as Naseline Timouche. <\/p>\n

Online records show she was arrested on Saturday and charged with aggravated child abuse causing great bodily harm and child neglect. <\/p>\n

Local 10 News<\/a> reported that Timouche appeared in court on Tuesday, with a judge determining she “must undergo evaluations before any future contact with her daughter can be considered.” The media outlet also noted that the court “ordered therapy and evaluations to assess the child’s needs.” <\/p>\n

Citing an arrest report, the outlet noted that an investigation started after deputies with the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office conducted a welfare check at Timouche’s home. Authorities said they found the girl with multiple scars and injuries that appeared consistent with long-term abuse, per the report.<\/p>\n

“The victim said she had also been hit numerous times with a cord, frying pan and a spatula and does not often get fed at home by her mother,” Local 10 News<\/a> reported, adding that the child told investigators her mother said food in their home was reserved for guests.<\/p>\n

The girl reportedly told investigators she was forced to eat expired food or food taken from the garbage. <\/p>\n

A neighbor said she frequently found the child unsupervised and often provided her with food and clean clothes, according to the outlet. The neighbor reportedly said she had allowed the girl to stay at her home on multiple occasions because she appeared neglected.<\/p>\n
