Suspect shot, killed after attempted robbery in Miami Gardens A suspect has died after he was shot in the head while trying to conduct a robbery early Tuesday morning at a home in Miami Gardens, authorities said. <\/p>\n
Police said a male resident at the home opened the front door to the would-be robber and the two got into a physical altercation.<\/p>\n
The resident\u2019s girlfriend then ran to neighbors for help, authorities said. <\/p>\n
One of the neighbors then heard the sound of gunshots, which police say came from the alleged robber\u2019s gun.<\/p>\n
That neighbor then went over to where the fight was happening and shot the suspect in the head, police said.<\/p>\n
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue officials transported the suspect to HCA Florida Aventura Hospital, where he later died.<\/p>\n

\u201cForty five years on this block, and we ain\u2019t never seen a crime scene or anything out here,\u201d neighbor Katara Bloom said. <\/p>\n
As police say there\u2019s no longer a threat to this community, neighbors say they\u2019ll continue to stick together.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is not a bad neighborhood — this is a pretty good neighborhood,\u201d Bloom said. \u201cNobody really has any problems. We\u2019re like family in this community; each one of us knows each other.\u201d<\/p>\n
It\u2019s unclear whether the person who lives at the house was randomly targeted as police say the motive is still unclear.<\/p>\n
The investigation remains ongoing.<\/p>\n
