The city of Sanibel will sponsor the Lee Health Blood Center\u2019s Bloodmobile on June 11 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the front parking lot of the Sanibel Public Library, at 770 Dunlop Road, Sanibel.<\/p>\n
Donors will receive a mini-physical that will include check of temperature, blood pressure, heart rate and hemoglobin. Donors must be 17 years or older and weigh at least 115 pounds.<\/p>\n
The city noted that Lee Health is in tremendous need of blood to meet local demands.<\/p>\n
\u201cDonating with Lee Health ensures donations stay in our community,\u201d it shared. \u201cJust a single pint of blood can help save the lives of several people. Your donation can be separated into its different components; the platelets may go to a child with leukemia, the plasma to a patient with a clotting problem, and the red blood cells to an accident victim.\u201d<\/p>\n
To reduce wait time, donors are encouraged to schedule an appointment by emailing their name, contact information and preferred appointment times to patricia.hotton@mysanibel.com. Appointments will run in half-hour increments. They will be provided on a first-come, first-serve basis.<\/p>\n
Walk-ins will be accepted and worked in between confirmed appointments.<\/p>\n
