TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – A Honduran man was sentenced in connection to child exploitation crimes in Tallahassee, according to the Northern District of Florida\u2019s U.S. Attorney\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n
Israel Portillo was found guilty of attempting to entice a minor in unlawful sexual activity and traveling with the intent to engage in illicit sexual conduct. <\/p>\n
Portillo was arrested as part of Operation Rabbit Hole<\/a>, an undercover operation conducted by multiple law enforcement agencies in April 2025.<\/p>\n More on crime in our area: <\/p>\n Trial testimony revealed that Portillo began interacting with an undercover law enforcement officer, who was posing as a 14-year-old on a dating website.<\/p>\n Over a two-week period, Portillo had sexually explicit conversations and arranged to travel from his home in Alabama to Tallahassee to meet the child for sex, where he was ultimately arrested.<\/p>\n Portillo was sentenced to 121 months in prison followed by five years of supervised release. He will also have to register as a sex offender. <\/p>\n The U.S. Attorney\u2019s Office identified Portillo as an illegal immigrant.
