After skeletal human remains were found in the backyard of a Lincrest Drive home, police records reveal years of police calls to the address.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Investigators are still working to identify skeletal human remains discovered in the backyard of a Jacksonville home earlier this month, but newly obtained records are providing a closer look at what was happening at the property in the years leading up to the discovery.

The investigation began on June 3 when the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of what appeared to be a human leg bone found near the street on Lincrest Drive. Investigators said a K-9 unit later led officers to the backyard of a nearby home, where skeletal human remains were uncovered.

Authorities have not identified the remains and have not said whether the case is being investigated as a homicide. However, records obtained by First Coast News show the home had a history of police activity before the remains were found.

Call logs provided by JSO show officers responded to the address 26 times between 2021 and 2026. The calls included four domestic disturbances, four well-being checks, and three disputes, among other incidents.

Crime and safety expert Ken Jefferson said the frequency of calls stood out.

“That’s an unusual amount, a large amount of calls going to that one house in that particular time span; you look at the average person, average person may not ever call the police to their house, but this was a frequently visited home by the police for various reasons,” Jefferson said.

The records also reveal a notable spike in activity during the spring of 2024. Between April 2 and April 17, officers were dispatched to the home six times.

Those calls came just days after a man, Roderick Porter, was reported missing from the address on March 29, 2024.

Investigators have not publicly connected Porter’s disappearance to the remains found in the backyard. Still, Jefferson said detectives will likely examine whether there is any relationship between the two cases as they work to establish the identity of the remains.

“They’re going to see if it’s tied to the person they reported missing,” Jefferson said. “If it is, now we’ve got possibly a homicide.”

For now, investigators are focused on identifying the remains, a process that could take weeks or months depending on the condition of the evidence and the availability of dental records or other identifying information.

First Coast News has requested reports associated with several of the domestic disturbance calls listed in the logs. Some of the calls do not have incident reports attached to them.

After skeletal human remains were found in the backyard of a Lincrest Drive home, police records reveal years…

[8
116,118,117
post-303361","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-jacksonville","tag-jacksonville","tag-jacksonville-headlines","tag-jacksonville-news
["GET
