They argue that allowing the concerts to move forward would send the wrong message at a time of heightened concern over antisemitism.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cProviding a prominent stage to someone whose words have repeatedly fueled antisemitism is unacceptable,\u201d Tampa Bay NOW said in its release.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The call follows a letter from Scott to the Tampa Sports Authority Board of Directors, in which he urged the Board not to \u201cplatform a hateful person pushing evil ideologies\u201d using taxpayer money. Scott wrote that Ye\u2019s antisemitic comments are \u201can affront to the values of the people of the Hillsborough community.\u201d He argued that a taxpayer-supported stadium should not \u201csubsidize\u201d an event led by an artist known for spreading hateful rhetoric.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.scottsingerusa.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external noreferrer nofollow\" data-wpel-link=\"external\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-793950 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/Singer-728x90DigitalAd-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"728\" height=\"90\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Scott also pointed to Ye\u2019s more recent conduct, including a 2025 Super Bowl ad directing viewers to merchandise featuring swastikas. He said Ye\u2019s remarks are \u201cvile and a slap in the face\u201d to Florida\u2019s Jewish community.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cA hateful person pushing evil ideologies is not a Florida value,\u201d Scott wrote.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Tampa Bay NOW also sent a letter to the Tampa Sports Authority Board, Hillsborough County Commissioners, state lawmakers, Raymond James Stadium and local officials, urging them to drop support for the concerts and publicly reject Ye\u2019s appearance.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cWe encourage you to drop any support for this concert, and, in fact, provide a public statement that YE and his fellow believers are not welcome in our city!\u201d the group wrote.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Jewish Community Relations Council of the Jewish Federation of Florida\u2019s Gulf Coast has also urged community members to contact local leaders about the concerts. In a letter to the community, JCRC called the scheduled performances \u201cdeeply troubling\u201d for many in the Jewish community and others who oppose hate.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/beckerlawyers.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external noreferrer nofollow\" data-wpel-link=\"external\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-774002 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/Becker-Print-Ads-EMPOWER_728-x-90.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"728\" height=\"90\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cMeaningful change occurs when people refuse to remain silent,\u201d JCRC wrote. \u201cEvery phone call, email, letter, and conversation helps demonstrate that our community expects better from the institutions that serve the public.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Tampa Sports Authority Chair <a href=\"https:\/\/floridapolitics.com\/archives\/tag\/patrick-manteiga\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Patrick Manteiga<\/a> told Florida Politics on Thursday that Scott\u2019s letter was <a href=\"https:\/\/floridapolitics.com\/archives\/801456-patrick-manteiga-addresses-new-tampa-sports-authority-appointee-rays-uncertainty-and-ye-concert-drama\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">followed by a surge of public emails<\/a> to the authority, including form emails and more personalized messages from residents.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The debate places the Tampa Sports Authority in a difficult position, caught between public outrage over Ye\u2019s past statements and contractual realities. Manteiga said canceling the contract based solely on objections to Ye\u2019s statements could expose the authority to legal risk.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cWe\u2019re probably close to selling out 100,000 tickets.
