TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – The Tallahassee Reckoning has reached the midpoint of the season, and sit in second place in the Southeast Division of the USL W League.<\/p>\n
The ladies have a big match-up at home Friday night against Brevard, but before the big game, the ladies taking some time this week to give back.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s camp week for the Reckoning, where the ladies took some time to coach up youth soccer players.<\/p>\n
For the team, it\u2019s a chance to give back to the community, a big part of their mission statement. The goal? For the players to mentor and bond with the kids, as it only makes their relationship stronger with the community, and if the kids end up learning some new soccer skills, that\u2019s okay too.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnytime you can get involved early and kind of see what\u2019s possible, I think it\u2019s great,\u201d said head coach Izzy Cotto. \u201cEspecially when it\u2019s a hands on experience. You can watch a game of TV, but it\u2019s not the same as talking to a player, interacting with them and getting that personal feedback. For us, the earlier the more frequent better. For us, in the summer when the kids are off from school and we can mentor them, have them out on the field, have them interacting and playing, that\u2019s really the bigger vision here.\u201d<\/p>\n
To see the Reckoning in person, their match with Brevard is set for 7:00 Friday night at Gene Cox Stadium in Tallahassee.<\/p>\n
