{"id":305382,"date":"2026-06-12T16:45:21","date_gmt":"2026-06-12T16:45:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/305382\/"},"modified":"2026-06-12T16:45:21","modified_gmt":"2026-06-12T16:45:21","slug":"mdso-rideshare-driver-arrested-in-connection-with-hit-and-run-crash-in-northwest-miami-dade","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/305382\/","title":{"rendered":"MDSO: Rideshare driver arrested in connection with hit-and-run crash in northwest Miami-Dade"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph\">MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla.  \u2014 A rideshare driver was arrested Thursday, days after he struck a motorcyclist in northwest Miami-Dade and then fled the scene, authorities said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.local10.com\/espanol\/2026\/06\/12\/mdso-arrestan-a-conductor-de-servicio-de-transporte-por-aplicacion-en-relacion-con-atropello-y-fuga-en-el-noroeste-de-miami-dade\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.local10.com\/espanol\/2026\/06\/12\/mdso-arrestan-a-conductor-de-servicio-de-transporte-por-aplicacion-en-relacion-con-atropello-y-fuga-en-el-noroeste-de-miami-dade\/\">Leer en espa\u00f1ol<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">According to an arrest report from the Miami-Dade Sheriff\u2019s Office, the crash occurred Saturday night in the area of Northwest 103rd Street and 27th Avenue.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Deputies said Osmany Castillo, 48, was making a left turn on Northwest 103rd Street when he struck a motorcyclist, vaulting the victim in the air.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">According to the report, Castillo continued driving north on 27th Avenue, dragging the victim\u2019s 2025 Yamaha YZF-R3 motorcycle under his vehicle before it eventually dislodged.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Deputies said Castillo never stopped to render aid to the victim and didn\u2019t report the crash to law enforcement.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">A witness, however, followed Castillo\u2019s 2011 Toyota Tundra and was able to obtain its tag number, authorities said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Miami-Dade Fire Rescue officials responded to the scene and transported the victim to Jackson Memorial Hospital\u2019s Ryder Trauma Center, where he was listed in critical condition.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">According to the report, Castillo provided a \u201cfull confession\u201d to detectives, however his exact statement was redacted from the publicly released report.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">His vehicle was impounded as evidence, detectives said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Deputies did not confirm in the report whether Castillo was conducting a rideshare ride at the time of the crash.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Authorities said he surrendered to law enforcement Thursday and was booked into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on a charge of leaving the scene of a crash resulting in serious bodily injury.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">As of Friday afternoon, Castillo remained at TGK on a $15,000 bond. <\/p>\n<p>\ud83c\udfe0 News From Your Neighborhood<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph b-article-body__copyright\">Copyright 2026 by WPLG Local10.com &#8211;
