If you’re looking for the best hotels in the country, don’t bother booking a flight because there’s one right here in Miami Beach! Each year, Tripadvisor announces reviewers’ favorite destinations, hotels, restaurants and activities as part of its Travelers’ Choice Best of the Best. Known as the platform’s highest honor, it is awarded to the top 1% of listings worldwide, with one local establishment among this year’s list of hotels.

Coming in at No. 10 in the U.S., Faena Miami Beach is a multi-award-winning retreat set against brilliant white sands and turquoise waters. It’s no surprise that users have rated this property highly, scoring 4.8 with over 3,300 reviews!

Founded by creative visionary Alan Faena along with Len Blavatnik, the property transports guests into a fantastical world with some of the city’s most sought-out dinner reservations, live entertainment, art installations (like Damien Hirst’s ‘Gone But Not Forgotten’ golden mammoth), dedicated healing and spa spaces, retail and its own Faena Theater.

Tripadvisor writes:

“Faena Miami Beach’s location (right near the beach) is certainly a draw—but there’s so much more than that. There’s a yoga room, spa, and a fitness center, plus an outstanding restaurant, Los Fuegos. From check in (complete with a complimentary glass of champagne) to check out, the attentive service and thoughtful amenities will make your stay truly special.”

Florida boutique hotels beyond the top 10

But while Faena grabbed the national attention, Tripadvisor’s list highlights two other Florida properties that cater to distinctly different types of travelers (or locals looking for the perfect staycation).

Following the Miami Beach escape at No. 12 is Lauderdale-by-the-Sea’s charming Beachside Village Resort. This laid-back, coastal boutique resort is lauded for its relaxing atmosphere, ample amenities and hospitality offerings.

“You’ll appreciate the unique, beautifully decorated rooms with a beachy theme and the convenient location that makes exploring a breeze, the platform writes. “When hunger strikes, delight in the array of dining options, and don’t forget to make use of the excellent customer service to enhance your experience!”

Meanwhile, at No. 14, the Kimpton Hotel Palomar in Sunset Harbour offers a nautical stay for those who want to be close to the action without sleeping in the middle of it. Tripadvisor highlights its rooftop pool deck, rooms stocked with yoga mats and mini bars, complimentary coffee, free wine at happy hour and room key perks throughout the neighborhood.
