(WCTV) &#8211; The national weather service has issued a heat advisory that goes into effect at noon and lasts until 6 p.m. for dangerous heat this afternoon.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"figure-img img-fluid mx-auto d-block\" alt=\"Feels-like temperatures in the triple digits will make for dangerous heat this afternoon.\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/4NL6PNE75FFQBHLHMNGCFVGDGU.png\" width=\"980\" height=\"551\" \/>Feels-like temperatures in the triple digits will make for dangerous heat this afternoon.(WCTV)Very hot weekend:<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Yes, we live in the south and we are used to the heat. But when you factor in the humidity, it will feel like triple digits throughout much of the afternoon across the area. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Be sure you are limiting your time outside today and staying hydrated. If you work outdoors today, take frequent breaks in the shade or air conditioning. It will be best to get things done early this morning or late this evening. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"figure-img img-fluid mx-auto d-block\" alt=\"A great day to spend by the pool as temperatures soar into the upper 90's.\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/C5Y6CKIHFVH2FKE5KKKK6UNZGU.png\" width=\"980\" height=\"551\" \/>A great day to spend by the pool as temperatures soar into the upper 90&#8217;s.(WCTV)<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">There will be enough juice in the atmosphere to spark off scattered shower and thunderstorms. The best chance of rain will be the big bend, especially near I-75 and south of I-10. Extreme rainfall, lightning and brief gusty winds are the main threats with the strongest storms. If you are spending the day outside to cool off, be able to move the plans indoors quickly in case you end up underneath one of these downpours.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Tomorrow will be hot once again, but coverage of rain, clouds and storms should be higher, especially in the afternoon. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"figure-img img-fluid mx-auto d-block\" alt=\"Hot over the next few days, with highs above average for early June.\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/FWO4V5FWOJH6NHIKDPMHVTDH2Y.png\" width=\"980\" height=\"551\" \/>Hot over the next few days, with highs above average for early June.(WCTV)Beach and boating:<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">You may want to consider the beaches this weekend with the summer heat here. Overall, conditions are expected to be just fine. I am no longer expecting a high rip current risk along the Franklin County beaches, so swimming in the Gulf should be safe. Just be sure to check the flags before heading into the water. Wakulla county beaches are just fine.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"figure-img img-fluid mx-auto d-block\" alt=\"Overall good boating and beach conditions, however, you will need to doge a few showers or...\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/O7L7LKW7ABET7KNLBRDXZMIDQA.png\" width=\"980\" height=\"551\" \/>Overall good boating and beach conditions, however, you will need to doge a few showers or storms through the weekend.(WCTV)<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">For boaters, waves 2 to 3 feet with a steady west\/northwest wind becoming on shore in the afternoon. A little choppy on the protected waters and bays. Of course, you may have to dodge some showers. I think most of the action should stay north of highway 98, but a few could drift to the coast especially late morning and early afternoon.<\/p>\n<p>Heavy rain next week:<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">We get a break from the heat next week as rain and storms look likely on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. A few stronger storms are not out of the question either. Extreme rainfall rates will lead to some localized street flooding and ponding in the back yards. Although, this rain is beneficial as many are still facing a decent rainfall deficit despite the drought improvements.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"figure-img img-fluid mx-auto d-block\" alt=\"The chance of rain and storms increasing throughout the weekend and into next week.\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/TWMMBUHHFFFDRBH37WWQAXGWNU.png\" width=\"980\" height=\"551\" \/>The chance of rain and storms increasing throughout the weekend and into next week.(WCTV)Tracking the tropics:<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">No tropical trouble.
