This weekend, the Florida Gators hosted several top targets on campus as they look to round out the Class of 2027 with targets to fill needs.\n<\/p>\n
Defensive back Raheem Floyd (6-2, 170, East St. Louis, IL. High) was on campus and enjoying being around the coaching staff including head coach Jon Sumrall.\n<\/p>\n
\u201cThe highlights, just being here with the coaches, they have great coaches here,\u201d Floyd said of his visit to Florida this weekend. \u201cIt\u2019s a great facility and a great place to be. I feel like they can win a national championship and it would be a great place to be.\u201d\n<\/p>\n
Floyd was glad to be in town with his family but he also enjoyed watching the team go through practice on Friday.\n<\/p>\n
\u201cJust being out here with the family and them all having a good time,\u201d he said on what stood out to him. \u201cThen watching OTA\u2019s, just seeing how they practice, seeing how fast pace it is and how intense it is. It\u2019s great energy on the field and I feel like it\u2019s a beautiful place to play.\u201d\n<\/p>\n
While on his visit, Floyd was hosted by two defensive backs including one who shared his experience of getting to Gainesville.\n<\/p>\n
\u201cCormani McClain the first day and then Ben Hanks the second day,\u201d Floyd said on his player host. \u201cThey just told me it\u2019s a great program. Cormani gave me his background, how he came from Colorado, how he transferred and then elevated himself as a player. Watching him practice it shows, he\u2019s taking all of it in and just putting his head down and grinding.\u201d\n<\/p>\n
Cornerbacks coach Brandon Harris spent a lot of time with Floyd and the defensive back likes how he coaches the game.\n<\/p>\n
\u201cI feel like he\u2019s doing a great job, I feel like he\u2019s doing a great job coaching,\u201d he said on what stands out about Coach Harris. \u201cEven in the 10 minutes of Indy, how he\u2019s detailed with the players and making them better and just how the drills translated to the game.\u201d\n<\/p>\n
Heading into the weekend, Missouri had the most buzz around Floyd\u2019s recruitment but he says two schools are on top right now.\n<\/p>\n
\u201cI think they\u2019re the two schools setting the pace right now, Missouri, that\u2019s home, that\u2019s the hometown team, a great program to be in and they\u2019ve been winning recently,\u201d Floyd said on his top two schools. \u201cFlorida, they\u2019ve got to win but I feel like they\u2019re on the rise and on the road to success.\u201d\n<\/p>\n
Floyd plans to announce his decision on July 1st and he says he has to go back home and think on things before then.\n<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m not going to say there\u2019s one kind of setting the edge, but I feel like they\u2019re both great programs and I\u2019ve got like a week or two to decide,\u201d he said. \u201cJust taking it back home and deciding, weighing the options out. I feel like it\u2019s going to be a hard decision but come down to it, I\u2019m not sure right now.\u201d\n<\/p>\n
