There isn\u2019t anything the Florida Gators won\u2019t do in order to flip five-star wide receiver Easton Royal from the Texas Longhorns.<\/p>\n

It was a massive recruiting weekend for the Florida Gators.<\/p>\n

Head coach Jon Sumrall<\/a> hosted six recruits this weekend, with the two biggest ones being five-star wide receiver Easton Royal<\/a> (committed to Texas Longhorns) and five-star defensive lineman Jalen Brewster<\/a> (committed to Texas Tech Red Raiders). Getting either one of them to flip would be massive for the Gators.<\/p>\n

The potential to land both players is real, as both have been to Gainesville multiple times each. The recruitment of Royal has an interesting element to it that very few programs can utilize.<\/p>\n

Florida Gators connect Easton Royal with gold medalist<\/p>\n

Royal isn\u2019t just a football player, he also runs track. The Gators have one of the best track and field programs in the nation, and they have been for some time. What the Gators have access to that the majority of programs don\u2019t is an Olympic gold medalist. They had the 2024 Olympic gold medalist in the 110-meter hurdles, Grant Holloway, spend time with Royal, per Rivals\u2019 Steve Wiltfong<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The recruitment of Royal is as real as it gets. The Gators and LSU are both threats to flip the electric playmaker from Texas. Royal spent a lot of time with Gators receivers Dallas Wilson and Eric Singleton, learning more about their experience and what it looks like playing in Buster Faulkner\u2019s offense.<\/p>\n

Royal\u2019s visit also included the track and field component. Olympic Gold Medalist Grant Holloway hung out with Royal during his visit and Royal did a photo shoot with the track program.<\/p>\n

Ranked as the nation\u2019s No. 6 overall prospect, Royal is slated to be back at Texas next weekend. His commitment looks shaky going into the return to Austin. Florida commits in quarterback Davin Davidson and receiver Elias Pearl came to hang out on Friday as well.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a huge aspect to the discussion. Getting Royal to commit would be huge for the Gators, as he is the No. 6 overall prospect in the nation. The key is going to be his final visit to Texas next weekend. If the Gators did enough this weekend to flip him, that would be a huge coup for Sumrall.<\/p>\n
