{"id":306735,"date":"2026-06-13T23:24:10","date_gmt":"2026-06-13T23:24:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/306735\/"},"modified":"2026-06-13T23:24:10","modified_gmt":"2026-06-13T23:24:10","slug":"pedestrian-struck-in-crash-on-northwest-17th-avenue-police-investigate","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/306735\/","title":{"rendered":"Pedestrian struck in crash on Northwest 17th Avenue, police investigate"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"text text--small text--normal text--primary\">Published:\u00a0June 13, 2026 at 6:58 PM<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">MIAMI \u2014 Traffic on Northwest 17th Avenue has reopened after police shut down the road Saturday afternoon following a crash involving a pedestrian.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The crash happened before 2:30 p.m. near Northwest 17th Avenue and Northwest 44th Street, next to Second Canaan Missionary Baptist Church.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Video from the scene showed what appeared to be a person\u2019s belongings scattered in the roadway, including a red walker and clothing.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Police blocked off the area to traffic while investigators photographed the scene and worked to piece together what happened.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Authorities have not released information on the victim\u2019s condition or what caused the crash.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">One neighbor said speeding has long been a problem along Northwest 17th Avenue.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cFrom here on 41st Street, under the bridge, all the way north to 46th, people are racing, racing, flying,\u201d the neighbor said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Officials have not released additional details.
