Here, we say goodbye to eight South Florida restaurants that closed for good during spring 2026 \u2014 and two that will soon be gone.<\/p>\n<p>City Cellar Wine Bar &amp; Grill, <a href=\"https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/6CXz39nxHwbsyPas7\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">700 S. Rosemary Ave., West Palm Beach<\/a>: For 26 years, this CityPlace mainstay courted downtown regulars for lunch and dinner with its menu of dry-aged steaks, charcuterie boards, fresh pastas and 600 bottles of wine. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.citycellarwpb.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">closing of City Cellar<\/a>, from Big Time Restaurant Group (Rocco\u2019s Tacos, Louie Bossi\u2019s) affected 96 jobs, according to a notice filed under the federal Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act, which cites the restaurant\u2019s lease ending as the reason for closing. CLOSED: May 24, <a href=\"https:\/\/reactwarn.floridajobs.org\/WarnList\/Records?year=2026\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">per the notice<\/a>.\n<\/p>\n<p>Cut 432, <a href=\"https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/m2ZXFJbAw4Fw5iVM8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">432 E. Atlantic Ave., Delray Beach<\/a>: This steakhouse from Modern Restaurant Group (Park Tavern, El Camino) has shut on luxe Atlantic Avenue after 18 years of serving seafood towers, stone crabs, Wagyu filets and veal chops. \u201cBeing a part of your lives and your celebrations has been the greatest privilege,\u201d the steakhouse posted on <a href=\"https:\/\/cut432.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Cut432.com<\/a>, adding that it intends to open in a new location. CLOSED: Spring 2026. \u00a0\n<\/p>\n<p>The Cheese Course, <a href=\"https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/Ap2rcgFLxmJiMcCp6\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">801 S. University Drive, Suite 126, Plantation<\/a>. The online tenant directory for The Fountains shopping plaza does not list The Cheese Course, and the chain\u2019s website no longer accepts orders for the Plantation restaurant, even as locations in Pinecrest and Weston continue to operate. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/share\/p\/1DLp4x2NVm\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Facebook<\/a> posts show a notice taped to the door, stating: \u201cWith deep gratitude and a touch of nostalgia, we would like to inform you that this location will be closing its doors on Saturday, April 25.\u201d Attempts to reach management were unsuccessful. CLOSED: April 25, according to the door sign.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"lazyautosizes lazyload\" alt=\"The Big Daddy sandwich (pulled pork, smoked mac 'n' cheese, brisket) at Fat Boyz Barbecue in Fort Lauderdale, one of 119 South Florida eateries that notched perfect restaurant inspections in Sept. 2024. (Fat Boyz Barbecue\/Courtesy)<\/p>\n<p>Fat Boyz Barbecue, <a href=\"https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/im7ZB1CUCQSC7aQj8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">10334 W. Sample Road, Coral Springs<\/a>: Pitmaster Jarael Holston-Jones and his smoky empire of meats took a second stab at Coral Springs in 2024 (after previously <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sun-sentinel.com\/2021\/04\/21\/pour-out-some-sauce-fat-boyz-barbecue-permanently-closes-in-coral-springs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">closing here in 2021<\/a>). Now this \u201cunderperforming\u201d location has shut, he told the Sun Sentinel. Known for its Big Daddy sandwich (pulled pork, chopped brisket, mac and cheese on a Kaiser roll), Fat Boyz still has three outposts in Fort Lauderdale and Deerfield Beach. CLOSED: Early May, according to Holston-Jones.\n<\/p>\n<p>Tin Fish Boca, <a href=\"https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/RCRpZEd2pG9tNYgU7\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">9101 Lakeridge Blvd., Boca Raton<\/a>: The restaurant has posted online: \u201cIt is with deep sadness that we announce that Tin Fish will unfortunately be unable to continue operations. While this chapter is coming to a close, we want you to know how profoundly grateful we are for allowing us to be a small part of your lives, your traditions and your special moments.\u201d Tin Fish in Sunrise shuttered last summer. Both were helmed by Chef Joseph Melluso. Federal Highway, Pompano Beach<\/a>: This 2-year-old Italian sit-down from owner Maria Santini, which featured paninis, wraps, shrimp pomodoro and Sicilian lasagna, has been sold to new owners, Santini told the Sun Sentinel. \u201cMy body is tired, and my heart tells me it is finally time to rest and focus on my own family,\u201d Santini said in an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DYCyqBLEQUK\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Instagram post<\/a>. The storefront has since reopened as 1804 Haitian Pizza &amp; Fritay. CLOSED: May 7, according to Santini.\n<\/p>\n<p>Morton\u2019s The Steakhouse, <a href=\"https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/LSiDMqbS32gerJFG7\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">777 S Flagler Drive, West Palm Beach<\/a>: Ensconced in the middle-of-a-major-makeover <a href=\"https:\/\/www.relatedross.com\/office\/phillips-point#vision\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Phillips Point<\/a>, this longtime dining destination decided not to renew its lease, according to hospitality corporate owner Landry\u2019s. \u201cWe are deeply grateful for the warmth and loyalty this community has shown us over the years,\u201d Landry\u2019s COO Scott Crain said in an emailed statement. \u201cWe are working to transition our talented team to nearby sister locations.\u201d CLOSED: May 31, according to Crain.\n\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p>D\u2019Best Sandwich Shop, <a href=\"https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/zpkqFzBgG7UuAMoF8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">5201 N. Dixie Highway, Boca Raton<\/a>: This 24-year-old sandwicherie from owners Johnny and Susannah Amygdalitsis was known for Philly cheesesteaks and its D\u2019Pilgrim Thanksgiving sub. \u201cSo many thanks for all those years of your support, your wonderful smiles, and your awesome words and praise!\u201d the restaurant <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/subssaladscheesesteaks\/posts\/pfbid02jv8WvyWSFyAc9uEzavn1PNWXfAntqnLnmEfYA4LbCDVTPj6RANhecQgEFpMEK32el\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">posted on Facebook<\/a> on May 18. \u201cWe have to relocate and move, we have no place to go! It\u2019s a long story!! If anyone knows of a reasonable restaurant space to rent less than 1,500 square foot please reach out to us as soon as possible.\u201d Meanwhile, the space is expected to reopen in mid-June under a new name, Dixie Sandwich Shop, according to new daughter-father owners Amy and Andrew Marcoux. CLOSED: May 31, according to Amy Marcoux.\n<\/p>\n<p>Closing soon<\/p>\n<p>Cipresso, <a href=\"https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/iZEvogwDF3EQCMfBA\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">1 Seminole Way, Hollywood:<\/a> This Italian-American fine dining restaurant opened during <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sun-sentinel.com\/2019\/10\/18\/new-hard-rock-restaurants-a-sneak-peek-of-dining-at-the-big-guitar\/?share=higmoadineraiwa0oaad\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">fall 2019<\/a> at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel &amp; Casino. \u201cWe are grateful to the team members and guests who made Cipresso a special dining destination,\u201d Randy Morton, president of the hotel and casino, told the South Florida Sun Sentinel. \u201cWe look forward to sharing more details about an exciting new concept with Major Food Group, scheduled to open in fall 2026.\u201d CLOSING: July 18, per Morton and the <a href=\"https:\/\/casino.hardrock.com\/hollywood\/dining\/fine-dining\/cipresso\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Hard Rock website<\/a>.\n<\/p>\n<p>La Fontana Pizzeria &amp; Italian Restaurant,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/LncsqTTWJDJA9Y8y7\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">2890 N. University Drive, Coral Springs<\/a>: Located in The Walk at University shopping center, this restaurant announced its upcoming closing on Facebook, posting: \u201cAfter 18 unforgettable years, it is with heavy hearts that we announce that La Fontana Pizzeria Restaurant \u2026 will be closing its doors permanently \u2026 This decision has not been easy.
