THEY\u2019RE DRINKING GATORADE. OKAY, HOPEFULLY. SERIOUS. SERIOUSLY, THIS IS REAL HEAT. OKAY, I\u2019M GOING TO START WITH. THIS IS IF YOU JUST LOOK AT IT, IT\u2019S SOMEWHAT CONFUSING. IT\u2019S CALLED THE HEAT LUHANSK. IT\u2019S A NEW THING. THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS STARTED THE LAST COUPLE OF YEARS. AND ESSENTIALLY THE IDEA IS WHEN WE GET INTO A HEAT EVENT, HOW ABNORMAL IS IT? OKAY, SO FOR MOST OF US, MODERATE MEANS THAT IT\u2019S NOT A BIG DEAL, RIGHT? THAT\u2019S JUST A NORMAL DAY. BUT YOU SEE HOW MOST OF CENTRAL FLORIDA\u2019S HIGHLIGHTED IN MAJOR. THAT MEANS THAT EVEN FOR THIS TIME OF YEAR, THIS IS EXCESSIVE HEAT. AND THAT\u2019S THE BIG ILLUSTRATION. THAT\u2019S WHY I MEAN WATCH THESE FEELS LIKE TEMPERATURES ADJUSTING THROUGH THE DAY, RIGHT? BY LUNCHTIME ALREADY FEELS LIKE 100 DEGREES. AND WE TOP OFF FEELING LIKE 104 IN THE VILLAGES, 107 IN PALM COAST, 106 IN PALM BAY, AND ABOUT 103 TO 104 IN ORLANDO. SO SERIOUS HEAT IS HERE, SO AIR TEMPERATURES ARE ONLY GOING TO BE ONE PIECE OF THAT PUZZLE. OKAY. IN TERMS OF RAIN OPPORTUNITIES, IT\u2019S A 50% COVERAGE OF SHOWERS AND STORMS TODAY THROUGH LUNCHTIME. WE\u2019RE QUIET AFTERWARD. 2 P.M. OR SO. WE\u2019RE GOING TO START TO POPCORN UP A LITTLE BIT OF RAIN THROUGH THE METRO, AND THEN NOTICE THE WIDESPREAD SHOWERS AND STORMS. BASICALLY METRO OFF TO THE EAST. AND SOME OF THESE ARE GOING TO BE SOAKERS AROUND DINNER TIME. SO JUST KEEP THAT IN MIND. OF COURSE, AS THAT FADES THOUGH, WILL LOOK BETTER AND BETTER AND BETTER FOR TOMORROW. SAME IDEA. LOOK AT THESE. FEELS LIKE TEMPERATURES 90 TO 100 AREA WIDE. AND THEN ON WEDNESDAY THAT RAIN OPPORTUNITY STAYS OFF TO THE EAST. AS A MATTER OF FACT, WHILE WE\u2019VE GOT PLENTY OF HUMIDITY, WE DO KEEP THE RAIN CHANCES HIGH ENOUGH. AND BY SUNDAY I THINK THAT THIS IS KIND OF INTERESTING. LOOK AT WHERE WE\u2019VE GOT THE RAIN NUMBERS. OKAY, FROM ABOUT THE METRO OFF TO THE WEST, WE\u2019RE LOOKING AT A HALF INCH OF RAIN OR LESS. BUT AS SOON AS YOU PUSH FURTHER AND FURTHER EAST, YOU SEE THOSE DARKER GREENS AND EVEN THE YELLOWS. THAT\u2019S ONE, TWO, THREE INCHES OF RAINFALL, RIGHT? SO THE FURTHER EAST YOU LIVE, AT LEAST IN THIS GIVEN WEATHER PATTERN, THE HIGHER THAT COVERAGE OF SHOWERS AND STORMS WILL BE. AT LEAST OUR RADAR IS QUIET IN TERMS OF RAINFALL. I AM STILL TRACKING SMOKE FROM THAT FIRE IN WEST VOLUSIA COUNTY THAT\u2019S BLOWING SMOKE ACROSS DELAND, STETSON UNIVERSITY OUT NEAR ISB. KEEP IN MIND SOME OF THAT SMOKE COULD PUSH ACROSS FROM ABOUT ORANGE CAMP ROAD ALL THE WAY THROUGH ABOUT THE TIGER BAY FOREST. SO JUST KEEP THAT IN MIND IF YOUR TRAVELS TAKE YOU THROUGH THERE THIS MORNING WATCHING FOR VISIBILITY IN THAT AREA AS WELL. IN TERMS OF THE RAIN OPPORTUNITY, AGAIN, IT\u2019S GOING TO BE AFTERNOON TO ESPECIALLY DINNER TIME. BUT THOSE TEMPERATURES THAT MY FRIENDS, IS THE BIG STORY.
