Those who love to dance have a new, easy-to-learn, hip-shaking routine to master, courtesy of Shakira and the 2026 FIFA World Cup.<\/p>\n

\u201cDai Dai,\u201d or \u201cLet\u2019s go\u201d in Italian, combines the Colombian superstar\u2019s signature hip waves with rhythmic Afrobeat steps and hints of hip-hop, jazz and belly dance. Shakira, along with Nigerian singer Burna Boy, performed the fluid choreography at a World Cup opening ceremony in Mexico on June 11.<\/p>\n

The Royal Peacock Dance Studio in Oakland Park has been teaching the routine to its students as part of its regular classes, which include hip-hop, jazz, ballet and Latin fusion. Studio owner and creative director Adam Anthony said the \u201cDai Dai\u201d steps struck him as straightforward and in sync with the studio\u2019s goals.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe choreography is a nice blend of global and athletic references with a modern edge,\u201d said Anthony, who opened the studio in 2021. \u201cIt is accessible for all levels in our opinion, which is important to our daily mission\u201d of bringing dance to students with a range of abilities and fitness levels.<\/p>\n

When instructor Adelicia Villagaray suggested teaching the routine to the studio\u2019s dancers, Anthony thought it would be fun to jump on the trend. He said she studied videos to learn the intricate, pulsating footwork.<\/p>\n

The song includes lyrics with the \u201cLet\u2019s go\u201d exhortation in different languages \u2014 Spanish (\u201cdale\u201d), French (\u201callez\u201d) and Japanese (\u201cikou\u201d) \u2014 and celebrates participating World Cup countries and iconic soccer superstars of past and present, including Pel\u00e9, Diego Maradona, Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Kylian Mbapp\u00e9. The choreography includes lots of jumps, torso gyrations, high knees and arm waves.<\/p>\n

Anthony said dancers who are interested in learning the choreography should reach out to the studio.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe like to indulge in these trending dances,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
