For thousands of families in the communities we serve, the stakes could not be higher.

With the expiration of enhanced federal subsidies and new federal rules ending year-round enrollment for low-income individuals, many of our constituents are facing higher premiums, tighter deadlines, and fewer financial protections. These changes could leave hardworking Floridians, especially those in rural and underserved communities, without the health coverage they need.

As your elected representatives, we are working to ensure you and your family are prepared to navigate the ACA Open Enrollment that started Nov. 1 and runs through Jan. 15, 2026.

We’re partnering with Capital Health Plan and LaShawn Gordon, executive director of United Partners for Human Services, to host an educational session that will kick off a series of community town hall meetings across our districts. These events aim to provide residents with the knowledge and support they need to successfully navigate the 2026 ACA Open Enrollment process.

Dr. Lynn Jones

As Dr. Lynn Jones, Chief Medical Officer at CHP, recently shared, “Health coverage is more than just a financial safety net—it’s the key that opens the door to a lasting relationship with a primary care physician. When you have coverage, you have the support and resources to build that essential connection, which is the foundation for better health and well-being.”

Events will include:

Hosting community education events in Tallahassee, Quincy, Monticello, and Madison.

Bringing enrollment services directly to communities through mobile pop-up events.

Collaborating with local churches, schools, and nonprofits to reach those most at risk.

These events will serve as vital forums that provide community members with the knowledge and support they need ahead of the ACA Open Enrollment process. Together, we will answer questions, address concerns, and ensure your family can make informed decisions about your health coverage.

Access to health care begins with access to health coverage. We urge you to act during this critical enrollment window. Even if you’ve never enrolled before, or think you might not qualify, there are new tools and resources available to help you find a plan that fits your needs and budget. To learn more or for help enrolling, visit CapitalHealth.com/GetGoing or visit Healthcare.gov.

Health care is not a luxury; it’s a necessity. Let’s work together so every family in our districts has the opportunity to stay healthy, covered, and secure.

<img alt="Rep.
