TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Nearly every weekend in the summer, there\u2019s some camp, for some sport, somewhere across the Big Bend or South Georgia. Saturday in Gadsden County, Joshua Farmer is coming home to give back.<\/p>\n
The former Gadsden County Jaguar, turned Florida State Seminole, and now New England Patriot, as Farmer was drafted last year, is hosting his first ever camp Saturday at his high school Alma mater.<\/p>\n
Saturday\u2019s camp at Gadsden County High School is for boys ages 7 to 17. It\u2019s split into two sessions, one for the smaller kids from 9:00-11:00, and the other for high school age campers from 12-2:00.<\/p>\n
Farmer said he expects around 200 kids to attend, and to be able to be a mentor to kids that had a dream just like he did is what it\u2019s all about.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think I\u2019ll be very emotional man because of how far I\u2019ve come. I\u2019ve been chasing this dream my whole life, and I finally got a hold of it,\u201d he said. \u201cI just want to help others get here. It\u2019s really fun. I get paid seven figures to do something you love, to play a child\u2019s game at the end of the day. If I can help 5, 6, 7 kids, then they can go help kids. WE can get more guys from the North Florida area in the NFL, and that\u2019s my goal.\u201d<\/p>\n
