JACKSONVILLE, Fla. \u2014 A woman is dead after police said she was hit by a vehicle. Her body was found by an officer on patrols at about 3:53 a.m. Monday in the roadway at 8th and W. Illinois streets in the Hogan\u2019s Creek neighborhood.<\/p>\n
The victim, a woman in her 50\u2019s, was unresponsive in the westbound lanes of the 600 block of W. 8th Street, a Jacksonville police news release states. \u201cThe female had injuries consistent with being struck by a vehicle,\u201d the news release states.<\/p>\n
Jacksonville Fire Rescue pronounced her dead at the scene.<\/p>\n
