The investment includes construction of a new, state-of-the-art distribution facility, alongside advanced manufacturing and packaging technologies to expand capacity and meet growing demand for the company\u2019s Acuvue-brand contact lenses, according to the announcement. Johnson &amp; Johnson said it manufactures more than 1.7 billion Acuvue contact lenses annually for U.S. patients.<\/p>\n<p>The transaction is part of the company\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.visionmonday.com\/latest-news\/article\/johnson-and-johnson-reports-2025-q3-sales-growth-raises-fullyear-outlook\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">previously announced<\/a> $55 billion U.S. investment in manufacturing, research and development, and technology through early 2029. Construction of the new facility is underway with the goal of being fully operational in 2028.\n<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis investment reinforces our long-standing conviction that advanced manufacturing in the United States is essential to delivering innovative, high quality healthcare solutions to patients at home and around the world,\u201d said Joaquin Duato, chairman and CEO of Johnson &amp; Johnson. \u201cBy further strengthening our vision operations in Jacksonville with next-generation manufacturing, packaging and distribution capabilities, we are enhancing the resilience of our U.S. supply chain while helping more people see better and live better.
