The event will take place on Saturday, Nov. 8, from 5 to 11 p.m., at the historic Miami Woman\u2019s Club Building, located at 1735 N. Bayshore Dr., Miami FL 33132.<\/p>\n<p>Constructed in 1926, the four-story Mediterranean Revival structure served as the City of Miami\u2019s main library until 1937 and a Red Cross distribution center during World War II, earning it a place in the National Register of Historic Places. Its garden courtyard, porte cochere, auditorium, library, banquet hall, formal lobby, wrought ironwork, and ornamental chandeliers are manifestations of TMWC\u2019s status as one of Miami\u2019s founding institutions.<\/p>\n<p>Christine DiMattei, anchor of WLRN\u2019s Morning Edition, and Helen Acevedo, WLRN\u2019s anchor of All Things Considered, will serve as the night\u2019s co-emcees. The gala will unfold across three of Miami\u2019s most iconic venues, all located in the same building and each representing a different chapter in the club\u2019s ongoing legacy:<\/p>\n<p>Casadonna (first floor) \u2013 Guests will be welcomed down a red carpet to a cocktail reception with waterfront views and live music with an actor in turn of the 20th Century period costume.<\/p>\n<p>Ballroom (third floor) \u2013 More musical performances and a 1920s flapper will guide participants to the third floor for drinks and light bites before dinner is served in the building\u2019s stunning historic ballroom.<\/p>\n<p>Klaw Rooftop \u2013The evening concludes with a rooftop afterparty boasting panoramic views of Miami\u2019s skyline, live entertainment on Biscayne Bay, and a champagne toast.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe wanted to create a gala worthy of the Miami Woman\u2019s Club\u2019s 125-year legacy,\u201d said Metris Batts-Coley, club president. \u201cFor more than a century, the women of this club have shaped Miami\u2019s civic, cultural, and social landscape. This celebration is our way of honoring their vision and reminding the community that our story \u2014 and our impact \u2014 are still unfolding.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The dress code will be elegant evening attire. Valet parking services are included with the purchase of a ticket.
