The Jacksonville Police Department has arrested a third suspect in connection to the fatal shooting of a child that happened in mid-May.<\/p>\n

JACKSONVILLE, Ark. \u2014 The Jacksonville Police Department has now arrested a third suspect in connection to the fatal shooting of a child that happened in mid-May.<\/p>\n

According to reports, at about 10:20 a.m. on June 16, 2026, U.S. Marshals took Rayshaun Pitts into custody for his involvement in the deadly shooting of a 6-year-old child that happened in May.<\/p>\n

On May 17, 2026, at about 7:30 p.m., officers were called with reports of shots that had been fired in the 4000 block of South Highway 161.<\/p>\n

While they were on the way, officers got word that one person had been shot in connection to the incident.<\/p>\n

Once they arrived, they found a 6-year-old boy in a vehicle who had reportedly been shot multiple times. Police say that two adults were also in the vehicle with the boy, but they were not injured.<\/p>\n

Officers immediately began to help the boy, and he was quickly taken to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.<\/p>\n

Pitts was taken into custody by the U.S. Marshals after he was found and arrested in St. Paul, Minnesota.<\/p>\n

He is now the third suspect to be arrested in connection to this incident; both Artavius Johnson of Little Rock and Treyveon Stubblefield of North Little Rock had been previously arrested.<\/p>\n
