LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. (CBS12) \u2014 A Florida <\/a>father is facing charges on Monday after deputies say he was caught on camera doing dangerous ATV <\/a>stunts with his young son riding along during a street takeover.<\/p>\n

The Lee County Sheriff\u2019s Office<\/a> says the incident dates back to late April, when deputies were called to a gas station along Palm Beach Boulevard after reports of a large illegal gathering. By the time deputies arrived, the crowd had already dispersed.<\/p>\n

Detectives later reviewed surveillance video and cellphone footage from the scene, which showed a chaotic situation. Riders on ATVs and drivers in cars could be seen taking over the parking lot, speeding around and performing risky maneuvers like high-speed wheelies.<\/p>\n

One video stood out: a rider on a white ATV popping wheelies with a child seated on the vehicle.<\/p>\n

From there, investigators followed leads and identified the rider as 29-year-old Jordianis Garcia from Lehigh Acres. Deputies say they located him on June 15, and he admitted he was the person in the video. He also confirmed the child riding with him was his 8-year-old son.<\/p>\n

Garcia was arrested and charged with child neglect without great bodily harm. He also received a citation related to racing on a highway and for coordinating and participating in the takeover.<\/p>\n

Sheriff Carmine Marceno called the situation unacceptable and emphasized how dangerous these events can be, especially when a child is involved.<\/p>\n

Marceno said his agency has a zero-tolerance policy for street takeovers:<\/p>\n

This father put a lot of people in danger, including his own son, for a few moments of reckless entertainment.” <\/p>\n

These types of gatherings have become a growing problem across Southwest Florida, with large crowds often blocking roads so drivers can perform stunts. Deputies say the events can quickly escalate, putting both participants and bystanders at risk.<\/p>\n
