\n\t\t\t\t\t\tA 25-year-old Central Florida woman is facing criminal charges after deputies say she performed lip filler injections without a medical license, leaving at least one client with lip disfigurement.Jaqueline Padilla Requena was arrested Tuesday at her business, The Filter Effect, located at 214 Live Oaks Blvd. in Casselberry, according to the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office.According to an arrest report, deputies had been investigating Padilla Requena \u2014 who advertises herself online as Orlando’s “No. 1 Lip Enhancer” with hundreds of clients \u2014 since the end of February for “engaging in the unlicensed practice of medicine.” The sheriff’s office told WESH 2 News that the investigation stemmed from an incident in which one of Padilla Requena’s clients suffered “lip disfigurement” because of a procedure.The Florida Department of Health and the sheriff’s office confirmed Padilla Requena is not licensed to practice medicine in Florida.On June 15, deputies said an undercover agent was able to book an appointment on Padilla Requena’s website for a “lip filler special” that required a $50 deposit. The appointment was set for 4 p.m. on June 16.The following day, the agent showed up “in an undercover capacity and met with Padilla. Padilla agreed to perform the lip filler service,” the arrest report states. That’s when deputies said agents moved in and arrested Padilla Requena.She is charged with one count of practicing without a valid license resulting in serious bodily injury and one count of practicing without a valid license.During her first appearance Thursday, a judge told Padilla Requena that, as part of her bond conditions, she shall not practice any medical procedures without a valid medical license nor have access to any social media for advertising for any medical procedures. She is also not allowed to have any contact with the victim. As of Wednesday evening, Padilla Requena remained in the Seminole County jail with a $11,000 bond. The sheriff’s office said more charges are expected in this case.
