{"id":311914,"date":"2026-06-18T16:13:32","date_gmt":"2026-06-18T16:13:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/311914\/"},"modified":"2026-06-18T16:13:32","modified_gmt":"2026-06-18T16:13:32","slug":"jacksonville-storm-gusts-flip-semi-injure-missouri-driver","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/311914\/","title":{"rendered":"Jacksonville storm gusts flip semi, injure Missouri driver"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A storm-driven wind gust flipped a semitractor-trailer Wednesday on East Morton Avenue, causing minor injuries to the driver.<\/p>\n<p>The truck was going west on East Morton Avenue and was blown over onto its passenger side about 6:28\u00a0p.m. near Mobil Road, according to a Jacksonville Police report.<\/p>\n<p>A band of severe thunderstorms was moving through the area at that time, with wind gusts peaking at 60 mph, according to the National Weather Service.<\/p>\n<p>Driver Major Becton Jr., 52, of Florissant, Missouri, was taken to Jacksonville Memorial Hospital for treatment of what police said were minor injuries.<\/p>\n<p>Becton was driving for Hub Group Trucking of Indianapolis, according to police. Bill&#8217;s Towing had to remove the truck because of the extent of damage.<\/p>\n<p>Although portions of Pike and Brown counties were briefly under a tornado warning Wednesday evening, most of the Jacksonville area escaped with only scattered reports of wind damage.<\/p>\n<p>Other parts of the state were not as fortunate, though.
