{"id":312376,"date":"2026-06-18T22:48:12","date_gmt":"2026-06-18T22:48:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/312376\/"},"modified":"2026-06-18T22:48:12","modified_gmt":"2026-06-18T22:48:12","slug":"hillsborough-county-deputy-arrested-on-child-molestation-charges","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/312376\/","title":{"rendered":"Hillsborough County deputy arrested on child molestation charges"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The charges stem from an arrest warrant out of Hialeah.<\/p>\n<p>HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. \u2014 A Hillsborough County deputy has been arrested and charged with child molestation following an investigation in Hialeah.<\/p>\n<p>Manuel Chaveco Delgado, 42, worked in Detention Services at the Hillsborough County Sheriff&#8217;s Office (HCSO).<\/p>\n<p>According to an arrest affidavit from the Hialeah Police Department, Delgado was in a relationship with the teenage victim&#8217;s mother when the alleged crimes occurred.<\/p>\n<p>                                            &#13;<br \/>\n                                                <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.wtsp.com\/assets\/shared-images\/icons\/arrow-circle-down.svg\" alt=\"\" loading=\"lazy\"\/>&#13;<\/p>\n<p>                                            &#13;<br \/>\n                                                This story continues below.&#13;<\/p>\n<p>Over the course of about two years, Delgado allegedly touched the victim inappropriately several times while she was between the ages of 13 and 15.<\/p>\n<p>The victim said these incidents took place at a home in Hialeah and while in a car alone with Delgado. She also told police Delgado once showed her a picture of a penis on his phone.<\/p>\n<p>Delgado was arrested on June 16 and booked into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center in Miami-Dade County. He is charged with lewd and lascivious molestation of a child between the ages of 12 and 16, and showing obscure material to a minor.<\/p>\n<p>HCSO said Delgado is currently suspended without pay.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The charges stem from an arrest warrant out of Hialeah.
