Permitting Services \u2013 Online-First Process Effective July 1, 2026<\/p>\n
The City of Cape Coral is transitioning to an online-first permitting process beginning July 1, 2026, to improve efficiency, reduce wait times, and provide greater access to permitting services.<\/p>\n
Licensed contractors have been required to submit permit applications online since 2024 and are already using the City’s digital permitting system. Beginning July 1, owner-builders will also be expected to submit permit applications through the City’s online portal as the standard application process.<\/p>\n
Apply Online<\/p>\n
All new permit applications and related permitting activities must be submitted through the City’s online permitting portal:<\/p>\n
CapeCoral.gov\/EnerGov<\/a><\/p>\n The online system allows customers to:<\/p>\n Submit permit applications 24\/7 Assistance for Owner-Builders<\/p>\n Customers who need assistance with the online application process may visit City Hall for support.<\/p>\n Public computer stations are available for customers who do not have access to a computer or need help navigating the online system. Staff will be available to provide guidance on using the portal; however, permit applications must still be submitted electronically through the online system.<\/p>\n In-Person Services and Appointments<\/p>\n Beginning July 1, permit applications will no longer be accepted at the permit counter.<\/p>\n Appointments will be limited primarily to services associated with permit applications that were originally submitted as paper applications before the transition to the online system.
