Father\u2019s Day spending is expected to reach new highs this year, according to data from the National Retail Federation.<\/p>\n

The NRF\u2019s annual survey<\/a> finds that Americans plan to spend an average of $226.58 per person on Father\u2019s Day this year, reflecting a continued willingness to mark the occasion despite broader economic concerns.<\/p>\n

That number surpasses last year\u2019s record of $199.38 per person, indicating a steady increase in holiday spending.<\/p>\n

\u201cDads will not go unnoticed this Father\u2019s Day with so many families making plans to celebrate,\u201d\u00a0said Scott Shalley, President and CEO of the Florida Retail Federation (FRF<\/a>).\u00a0\u201cWhether it\u2019s grilling gear, a one-of-a-kind experience or a card with a great dad joke, Florida retailers are ready with thoughtful gift ideas to help everyone celebrate the dads who mean so much.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Florida Retail Federation is encouraging shoppers to support local businesses through its\u00a0\u2018Find It in Florida\u2019<\/a> campaign, which connects residents with retailers in their own communities.<\/p>\n

According to the NRF, 77% of Americans say they plan to celebrate Father\u2019s Day this year. The most common purchases include greeting cards (60%), clothing (58%), special outings (55%), and gift cards (52%).<\/p>\n

Despite recent economic strain, including the impact of ongoing conflict with Iran, NRF officials report that consumers remain committed to celebrating Father\u2019s Day.<\/p>\n

\u201cDespite economic pressures, Father\u2019s Day remains just as important to shoppers as in years past,\u201d NRF Chief Economist and Executive Director of Research Mark Mathews said. \u201cIn order to make the holiday fit their budgets, shoppers are pulling back in other spending areas. Retailers continue to meet consumer needs by offering items at affordable prices.\u201d<\/p>\n

Analysts project total Father\u2019s Day spending in the United States will reach $27.9 billion this year, setting a new record.<\/p>\n

The NRF survey was conducted among 7,914 U.S. adults between April 30 and May 5.<\/p>\n
