Southeast Homecare Services is laying off 178 employees across Florida, including 35 in the Tampa Bay market.<\/p>\n
The company, which provides home health services and is tied with another service provider in Miramar, announced the job cuts in a June 18 letter sent to six local leaders to meet federal Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act requirements.<\/p>\n
In the letter, the company says the job cuts come as it permanently closes four Southeast Homecare entities: Southeast Home Care LLC in Doral and Fort Lauderdale; Alborada Home Health of Tampa Inc. in Tampa and St. Petersburg; Infinity Home Health Care of Florida Inc. in Jacksonville; and MIA Home Health Care Services Inc. in Orlando.<\/p>\n
According to the Florida\u2019s Division of Corporations database, all four of the companies are managed by executives working for Miramar-based Integrated Home Care Services and whose addresses on the state\u2019s database matches that of Integrated.<\/p>\n
The official date of separation for employees is Aug. 31. The letter does not say anything about offers of employment at other facilities or separation agreements.<\/p>\n
In the letter, Southeast Homecare does tell the local leaders that it appreciates the \u201ccoordination and support in assisting affected employees and facilitating access to available workforce transition services.\u201d<\/p>\n
The company also does not say why it\u2019s closing the companies; two officials listed in the letter did not respond to questions Thursday about the reasoning and what will happen to patients receiving care.<\/p>\n
As for the two officials, their email address belongs to Integrated Home Care Services and their names appear on the company’s list of leaders. One is Barbara Ruiz, the vice president of human resources for Integrated, and the other is Gladiris Galiano, the company\u2019s chief compliance officer.<\/p>\n
Galiano, who signed the letter, did not respond to a question about the relationship between Southeast Homecare and Integrated.<\/p>\n
