The Cape Coral Animal Shelter is gearing up for its largest fundraiser of the year, and is seeking members of the community to participate.\u00a0<\/p>\n
CCAS has announced its 5th Annual Online Auction which will take place virtually from Aug. 17 through Aug. 21. As the shelter\u2019s largest annual fundraiser, CCAS officials said the event raises critical funds to support the care, medical treatment, enrichment, and adoption of homeless animals throughout Southwest Florida.<\/p>\n
After a record-breaking year in which the online auction raised more than $65,000, the shelter is looking to continue to break records in 2026, and is calling on local businesses, organizations, and community members to donate auction items and experiences. The auction is one of the shelter\u2019s most important fundraising efforts, with every dollar directly benefiting the animals in its care.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are incredibly grateful for the generosity of our supporters who helped make last year\u2019s auction such a tremendous success,\u201d said the shelter\u2019s executive director Liz McCauley. \u201cThis event is our largest fundraiser of the year, and we are hoping to surpass the $65,000 we raised in 2025. Every dollar raised goes directly to the care of our animals \u2014 from medical treatment and daily care to enrichment programs and finding loving forever homes.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2022 Wine baskets and specialty food items<\/p>\n
\u2022 Spa and wellness services<\/p>\n
\u2022 Pet grooming, boarding, and pet-related services<\/p>\n
\u2022 Home decor and specialty merchandise<\/p>\n
\u2022 Professional services<\/p>\n
\u2022 Gift baskets and themed packages<\/p>\n
\u2022 Unique local experiences and attractions<\/p>\n
CCAS officials said businesses and individuals who donate auction items will receive recognition throughout the event and on the shelter\u2019s social media channels. The shelter requests that donated items be new and unused.<\/p>\n
Since opening its doors in 2020, the CCAS has helped more than 6,400 animals find loving homes and continues its mission of providing shelter, medical care, and second chances to animals in need. \u201cCommunity support through events like our Online Auction makes this lifesaving work possible,\u201d CCAS officials stated.\u00a0<\/p>\n
