Island Hopper Songwriter Fest is set to return Sept. 18-27 with two acclaimed artists leading this year\u2019s lineup including headliner and platinum-selling singer-songwriter Edwin McCain and country music rising star Alexandra Kay.<\/p>\n

Island Hopper is excited to welcome veteran singer-songwriter Edwin McCain. Best known for his timeless hits including \u201cI\u2019ll Be\u201d and \u201cI Could Not Ask for More,\u201d McCain had his major label breakthrough in the mid-\u201990s. The Top 40 radio star has spent decades building a loyal fanbase for his heartfelt songwriting and dynamic live performances.<\/p>\n

Most recently, McCain has been touring with Hootie & the Blowfish, Collective Soul and Train. Last year he was revealed as Nessy, the Loch Ness Monster during a run to the final five during Season 13 of the hit TV show, \u201cThe Masked Singer.\u201d McCain will headline Island Hopper Songwriter Fest\u2019s \u201cWestin Unplugged\u201d Monday, Sept. 21, at The Westin Cape Coral Resort at Marina Village in Cape Coral.in Cape Coral.<\/p>\n

While the headlining act has historically performed at the Pink Shell Beach Resort and Marina on Fort Myers Beach, the performer for that show has not yet been announced. Jackie Parker, of the Lee County Visitor\u2019s and Convention Bureau, said a performer for the closing pool party on Sept. 27 at the Pink Shell Beach Resort and Marina in Fort Myers Beach, will be announced in the coming weeks. <\/p>\n

Alexandra Kay has emerged as one of country music\u2019s fastest rising artists earning millions of followers across social media through her authentic storytelling, powerful vocals and relatable songwriting.<\/p>\n

The BMI singer-songwriter recently released her sophomore album, \u201cSecond Wind,\u201d and headlined her third tour featuring her single \u201cStraight for the Heart.\u201d Her debut album, \u201cAll I\u2019ve Ever Known,\u201d reached No. 1 on the iTunes All Genre and Country charts and earned her a Top 10 on Billboard\u2019s Current Country Album.<\/p>\n

Making its Island Hopper debut, Caloosa Sound Amphitheater will host the festival\u2019s \u201cStars on the River\u201d concert in downtown Fort Myers on Thursday, Sept. 24, featuring Alexandra Kay as the opening act.<\/p>\n

In its 12th year, Island Hopper Songwriter Fest, named one of the Top 5 music fests by USA Today 10Best Readers\u2019 Choice Awards, gives fans the opportunity to see the country\u2019s top singer-songwriters perform up close with a tropical setting as the backdrop.<\/p>\n

In addition to the headlining performances, more than 60 BMI singer-songwriters will perform more than 80 performances during the 10-day music fest. Be sure to catch a live Island Hopper performance at these four locations around the Fort Myers area:<\/p>\n

While most Island Hopper shows are free, there are several ticketed events, including the Kay and McCain performances and the closing pool party at Pink Shell Beach Resort & Marina. Other one-of-a- kind ticketed experiences include a songwriter sunset cruise and dinner experiences.<\/p>\n
