MIAMI (WSVN) – One week has passed since the FIFA World Cup started, and South Florida is doing what they do best.<\/p>\n
Soccer fans have been uniting and blending each other\u2019s cultures ever since the tournament got underway.<\/p>\n
\u201cI love Mexico,\u201d said a fan of the Canadian soccer team in a show of solidarity to Mexico fans.<\/p>\n
\u201cI feel like it\u2019s so great to see that, a community like, like how a game can just bring so many people together,\u201d said soccer fan Paulina de Lalaima.<\/p>\n
From Wednesday night\u2019s thrilling Colombia game to a Canada-Qatar blowout on Thursday, Fan Fest at Bayfront Park has shown it all.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m happy to see us win our first World Cup game, and amazing,\u201d said fan David Faustini.<\/p>\n
\u201cGolazo, golazo, golazo,\u201d said another soccer fan.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt don\u2019t even matter, because Spain gonna win. It don\u2019t even matter,\u201d said a third soccer fan.<\/p>\n
Fans shared their experience at Fan Fest. <\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s a vibe, let me tell you. It\u2019s really fun, there is a lot of different things to do,\u201d said a soccer fan.<\/p>\n
Visitors from all over the world are also taking in the World Cup madness by representing their teams. <\/p>\n
\u2018I\u2019m from New Zealand,\u201d said a soccer fan.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m from England,\u201d said fan Frank Ilett. \u201cYou know, you saw Mexico shirts, you saw England shirts, like literally all over the world.\u201d<\/p>\n
For many people, soccer isn\u2019t just a sport. It\u2019s tradition, family bonding and opportunity.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think that this has been the healthiest period in North America in the last 20 years. I\u2019ve never seen more humanity, more love, people coming together,\u201d said fan Travis Peterson. \u201cI love this. I am hooked. I\u2019ve been out here for every Canada game. I\u2019m gonna go march with the Scots on Monday. I think this is just such a beautiful thing, and I am so happy right now.\u201d<\/p>\n
