LUCIE \u2013 A 49-year-old Port St. Lucie man riding an electric scooter was killed on Oct. 31 at about 5:45 a.m., when he was struck by a car in the crosswalk at Southeast Crosstown Parkway in Port St. Lucie, according to police reports.<\/p>\n<p>The man was headed north on Southeast Sandia Drive through the crosswalk when a 2021, four-door Mercedes headed west on Southeast Crosstown Parkway struck the scooter on the outside lane, throwing the rider off the scooter, according to police reports.<\/p>\n<p>The rider sustained serious injuries and was taken to St. Lucie Medical Center where he was later pronounced deceased.<\/p>\n<p>The male driver of the Mercedes was not injured and is cooperating with police, according to police reports.<\/p>\n<p>Police have not released the name of the victim, pending notification of next of kin.
