So far, MLB has not responded publicly to the subpoena.<\/p>\n<p>The subpoena requires that the MLB produce documentation by July 23, 2026, including:<\/p>\n<p>All uniform and equipment rules, interpretive guidance, and the specific provisions cited for the June 2026 warnings;<br \/>\nComplete enforcement history since 2020 showing every instance of warnings or discipline for markings \u2014 versus every instance where markings were permitted without action, including \u201csocial justice\u201d expressions, and religious citations;<br \/>\nDocuments concerning approvals or relaxations of rules for \u201cPermitted Expression\u201d (BLM patches, social justice messages, sponsor logos, etc.) and how MLB distinguishes these from religious expression;<br \/>\nPolicies on \u201cPride Night\u201d or themed apparel expectations, any adverse actions against players for their declining to participate, and any consequences tied to religious expression;<br \/>\nInternal deliberations on the June 2026 warnings, complaints received, and any compliance analysis with MLB\u2019s anti-discrimination code;<br \/>\nRecords for players and personnel at the Rays, Marlins and 15 Grapefruit League clubs across Florida.<\/p>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"TALLAHASSEE, Fla. \u2014 Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier has officially issued a subpoena to Major League Baseball.
