TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Tallahassee\u2019s Lake Ella has long been a popular gathering spot. <\/p>\n
Some recent social media posts said the area is not what it used to be. <\/p>\n
People complained about trash, goose droppings and the quality of the water there. <\/p>\n
Now, people are stepping up to help with a community cleanup scheduled for Saturday morning. <\/p>\n
Businesses nearby are thankful for the show of support for this local gem.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think it\u2019s amazing that the community is coming together to help out with that,\u201d Heather Wade, owner of Avant Garb said. \u201cAnd that\u2019s the sort of thing, sometimes you see it, sometimes it becomes a little more littered than other times. This Saturday\u2019s event will really help a lot.\u201d<\/p>\n
Lisa Folmar with Quarter Moon Imports shares the sentiment. <\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s just so reaffirming. It\u2019s such a great part of Tallahassee, and it\u2019s important to everyone. And I\u2019m just so glad that people are chipping in to help,\u201d Folmar said.<\/p>\n
The cleanup is set to start around 8:30 a.m. on Saturday. <\/p>\n
People are asked to bring their own gloves and trash bags.<\/p>\n
